The BD Vacutainer Eclipse Blood Collection Needle is the choice when performing routine blood draws. The product is highly desired for venipuncture because of its safety engineering. The design is covered by a hinged safety shield that is removed using the textured thumb pad. This allows for easy one-handed activation for easy blood draws, but most importantly, the safety shield is accessible to immediately push forward over the needle tip to prevent needlestick injuries. It gives an audible click to validate that the needle is covered and fully protected. This maximizes safety and keeps the hand behind the needle at all times to prevent painful needle interaction and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and the transmission of HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.

Additionally, the Vacutainer Collection Needle features a bevel orientation to the safety cover to facilitate low-angle placement. The threaded needle does not require assembly or adjustments. The needle features a color-coded cap for easy identification of the needle gauge options. Choose from the 21-gauge (BD 368607) with a green cap or 22-gauge (BD 368608) with a black cap.
